i'm ashley
i have unexplained infertility
this is my adventure

It's just better to get straight to the point.  I created this website to share a lot of information for you, things like blogs about feeling less stressed, or how to share difficult information, the adventures I capture to inspire, and the experiences I'm having so you know you're not alone.  If you want to read about me, you can find that here.  But really, the main reason I made this space was to talk about what I can do for you...and in return what you can do for me.

. our story .

I want to be a mother and my husband wants to be a father, but life doesn't seem to be making that possible for us.  We started trying in June 2017 and by September 2018, we were both diagnosed with unexplained infertility.  Nothing obvious seems to be getting in our way; both Brian and I are "extremely" healthy according to our doctors, but for whatever reason, it just isn't happening.

We were recommended by our Reproductive Endocrinologist to pay for 3 rounds of IUI (intrauterine insemination)...just a fancy way to say the "turkey baster" method, which cost us roughly about $2,100 out of pocket at the time, since our insurance didn't cover any procedures.  Thankfully, we saved/budgeted for this expense hopeful that 1 of them would work, however, all 3 rounds failed and we found ourselves up against the decision to keep trying on our own or move onto IVF.  Then MAGICALLY our insurance changed and IUIs were suddenly covered along with $5000 of ONE round of IVF.
We had a plan.  Continue the IUIs until we either got pregnant, hit a wall, or Fall 2020 rolled around.
So here we are.  Round 1 of IVF underway and writing blog posts while we wait and see if we have embryos.

. so what? .

That's where the story continues...here!
I wanted to create a space that shares the journey and what I learned along the way, because I will certainly not be the last woman to go through IVF and the best thing I can do for other women going through this is share my raw experience in order to support them in not feeling alone.

I  hope our story helps you feel less along and that our adventure inspires you in your next one.

with light + adventure,
